Until the Western Mountaineering Cypress Gore Infinium came along, most sleeping bags designed for extreme cold had been narrow mummy bags. The -30° F sleeping bag is incredibly wide, with more insulation and girth than any other bag in its warmth range. Even though this is not a mummy bag, it is absolutely capable of keeping you warm in severe cold. With an average loft of 11 in. and packed with a whopping 50 ounces of down, this bag will completely envelop your body with a thick barrier of the best thermal protection available, Western's 850+ fill premium goose down. Features include a stout insulated draft tube inside the zipper combined with a second storm flap covering the outside of the zipper, a full Gore Infinium water-resistant/breathable shell, a three-dimensional insulated draft collar, and a second zipper allowing the bag to open up completely around the foot.
Like all Western Mountaineering sleeping bags, the Cypress is made by hand in San Jose, California. Their down is sourced from free-range mother geese who are never live-plucked or force-fed.
