Trango BallNutz are thin crack protection at its finest. Using a sliding ball/ramp concept, BallNutz #1-#3 will protect parallel-sided cracks, flares and bombays from 3mm to 11.6mm. The three smallest sizes have a 2:1 expansion range resulting in unmatched security in chossy rock or expanding flakes. While these units are excellent at clean aid (used on the 1st clean ascent of The Shield), they are also terrific free-climbing protection where the cracks are thin and/or shallow. Use these babies for shallow placements, wide flares, directional stability and easy removal.
