Assisted-braking device with excellent handling and braking

The Mammut Smart 2.0 belay device has been specially designed to meet the needs of the constantly growing group of indoor and sport climbers. It dynamically brakes the climber in an accidental fall, and locks even at low levels of force exerted by the user. The Smart 2.0 offers significantly improved braking effectiveness and intuitive handling versus the previous version of the Smart. The belaying action of the Smart 2.0 is the same as the previous model and is therefore tailored to the belayer's reflex motions to provide an intuitive catch and release.
Please note that this is not an auto-locking belay device and the user's brake hand should remain on the rope at all times.
