The Black Diamond Recon BT avalanche transceiver is the simplified and streamlined avalanche beacon from Black Diamond based on the Pieps DSP Sport, now with Bluetooth capabilities so you can update their firmware at any point (what BT stands for). Outfitted with all the features needed for fast, accurate searches in the event of a slide, it has a 50m circular range, an updated user interface, redesigned housing and soft-touch contact points for improved ergonomics and handling. The Recon model as you would likely guess is not as feature rich as the Guide version and is geared towards the day user, perfect for ambitious day tours and freeriding.
