With a small diameter of 9.2 mm, the rope withstands as many falls as the 9.9 mm rope and the improved SBS sheath enhances its abrasion resistance. Complete Shield Technology: A combination of the water-repellent finishing of individual fibers of both the core and the sheath. The surface finish of all fibers contributes to lower friction inside the rope when under load, which prolongs its lifespan considerably. Thanks to the minimum absorption of water, the rope neither increases its weight nor freezes up in winter. The layer of TEFLON® ECO lends above-standard utility properties to Tendon ropes, especially in moist and rough environments. Both laboratory tests and the experience of Tendon athletes have shown that, thanks to this technology, Tendon ropes are able to boast of better waterproofing and abrasion-proofing when compared to other products. Application of TEFLON®ECO brings higher utility value, longer life span of the rope and, as a consequence, a higher degree of safety for the climbers.

SBS Technology:
SBS – Simple Braid System – is a system in which each strand is plaited independently into the sheath, providing a smoother, more compact surface than a sheath made by the usual tandem system. SBS ropes generate lower friction forces and are more resistant to abrasion and damage due to abrasion when in contact with the rock surface. The compactness of the sheath reduces the penetration of small particles between the fibers and thus reduces the damage to the inner structure of the sheath and the entire rope. SBS ropes are more pleasant to the touch, handling of the rope is easier, the rope “runs” better and is perfectly flexible. Due to the lower friction, the ropes are slipperier and faster in belaying devices, therefore it is useful to have experience in belaying techniques.
