  • The MontBell UL Down Parka is very similar to the Patagonia Down Sweater. Having handled both jackets, I like the heavier fabric and stitching quality of the Patagonia jackets a little bit more. The quality of fill is the same, but I would venture to say the Patagonia jacket blocks wind a little better (simply because of the heavier fabric). Both jackets will be equally water repellent in the beginning. How quickly the DWR wears off really depends on the user, but I don't think you'll find a dramatic difference in coating durability between the two jackets. I've abused my MontBell Alpine Light Down Parka for years and it still looks and functions great.
    
    I'm afraid I don't have exact measurements for either jacket. I can say that MontBell runs on the small side, and Patagonia is pretty standard North American sizing. Thanks for the question!
