Quick Overview
Versatile Tent- Description
-
Ultralight, amazingly strong, freestanding, roomy, and easy to pitch: the new Jannu is all these things. And, as such, it’s sure to inspire adventurers of every stamp – climbers, mountaineers, ski tourers, paddlers, and hikers – to travel to the wildest places, no matter the weather, and explore. Thanks to its size and clever construction, the Jannu can be pitched in nearly impossible places, is self-supporting and wonderfully stable, has plenty of room for two people (and gear), and yet is light enough to be a solo assault tent for gear-intensive, variable weather forays. Between the Jannu’s structure – its three poles cross each other in three places - its myriad pegging points, and its guy lines, high-wind stability and snow-load resistance is never a problem. And because it’s built with our proven short pole sleeve and clip system, it’s amazingly easy to set up, even by one person in strong winds. You simply remove the tent from its stuff sack, peg down the corners, and slide each pole’s ends into the short pole sleeves. Next, attach the tent's clips to the pole lattice, and, if the wind is up, stake out the guy lines. For even more strength, the tent’s guy line attachment points can be wrapped around the poles before being pegged out. Comfort is no problem, either. A single vestibule handles gear storage, and the asymmetrical outer entrance lets you enter or exit from either the side or the end. The roof vent can be adjusted from both in- and outside the tent, and is protected from rain and snow by a generous cover. The outer tent entrance can also be opened from the top, and the inner tent entrance is backed with no-see-um mesh, as well. Guy lines on the outer cover enhance the Jannu’s stability in very strong winds, and the outer zipper can be secured with a hook and ring to keep the wind from blowing it open.
