Description
While the Kaitum GT series was conceived as an ultralight complement to Hilleberg's Keron GT, the Kaitum models easily stand on their own merits. The Kaitum 2 GT is ideal for trips where light weight is a higher priority than maximum strength and where extra comfort is important, but where true all-season, all-weather capability is still a necessity. The Kaitum GT’s ultralight Kerlon 1200 outer tent fabric and DAC Featherlite NSL 9 mm poles keep total weight to a minimum while providing all-condition strength, and the proven two door/two vestibule tunnel tent design also provides outstanding comfort and flexibility. Both are ideal for mobile adventures that involve moving camp frequently, and both are equally well-suited for long and short adventures. The Kaitum GT is outstanding for use in protected terrain in any weather, but is also easily robust enough to handle use in exposed and/or above tree-line terrain in all but the worst conditions. The Kaitum GT is excellent for warm weather endeavors, since the front section of the extended vestibule can be completely rolled away for maximum air flow.

Other Features Hilleberg's tunnel design, with its single-opening, continuous pole sleeve construction and linked inner and outer tents makes the Kaitum quick and easy to set up
Ultralight materials – Kerlon 1200 outer tent fabric and 9 mm poles – make for a supremely strong yet very lightweight tent
Pitching requires only four pegs, yet 18 additional peg and guy-line points provide a myriad of options for increasing stability
Remarkably strong Spectra guy lines are attached at two points to all pole sleeves on both sides of the tent, and have two line runners each to ensure optimal tension
Each vent has a guy line with a line runner
Impressively spacious interiors thanks to generous width, full sitting height in the entire inner tent (and more height in the middle), two vertical inner tent entrances, and the tunnel design itself, which creates near-vertical side walls
Inner tent length makes the Kaitum a great ultralight tent for tall users
Two entrances and two vestibules afford tremendous convenience, flexibility, and comfort (e.g., one vestibule can be designated for gear stowage while the other can be used for food preparation or gear sorting)
One entrance of the tent can always be situated out of the wind
Extended vestibule has two entrances (one on the side and the other up front) on opposite sides, thus providing maximum entry/exit flexibility
The ventilation system functions regardless of weather conditions because inner tent fabric is highly breathable yet water repellent, and tent has a large vent placed high enough to keep air moving even if tent is dug down into deep snow
Each vent has adjustable snow-proof panel (accessible from inside the vestibule), which is air permeable even when zipped up
Both inner tent doors have full no-see-um mesh panels covered with equally sized, zipper-adjustable fabric panels
Entire front end of each vestibule can be rolled away for maximum viewing and superb warm-weather venting
Please note, pitching the inner tent on its own requires six Poleholders (sold separately).
