Hilleberg

Hilleberg is a family owned enterprise. For four decades they’ve produced outstanding, high quality, lightweight all-season tents and accessories, and in 2012 they released their first line of three-season tents. Their advanced technological approach to tent making was born out of the founder’s frustration with the structure of tents. An inner tent covered by a loose rain fly was an easy victim to the elements. He wanted a tent where the inner and outer elements were conjoined and could be pitched at the same time. He made just that, a dependable single-wall line of tents made from materials six to seven times stronger than the competitors.

Still not satisfied, Hilleberg created the first tent where the inner and outer designs could be disconnected, and incorporated the innovation into what has become their signature tunnel tent, the Keron. As pioneers, Hilleberg didn't stop there, and went on to make extended vestibule versions of the Keron, the Keron GT, which redefined the parameters of the tent. Having learned a thing or two, they set their sights on dome tents, with high expectations, the prototype made for a South Pole expedition.

Even now, Hilleberg strives for innovation. Their 2012 line of three-season tents offers the same sound structure of the company’s four-season tents, along with 9 mm poles and a very light exterior consisting of Kerlon 1000 fabric, an improvement on the long-used Kerlon 1500, which Hilleberg also developed.
