Questions on Spirit Burner

Sort by Descending
  • From SIG at 5/31/14 8:23 AM
    • How much fuel does the stove hold? And, what is the burn-time for one filling of the stove?Does this stove require the use of something else to keep the pot elevated so that air can get to the flame?
    • Hey SIG,

      Thank you for your question.

The approximate fuel capacity of the Spirit Burner is 70ml, or 2.3oz. For one filling of the stove, you are looking at approximately 30 minutes of burn time, depending on the type of fuel used and conditions in which you are using the stove in.

It is highly recommended that you use a pot support in order to maximize airflow to the flame, provide a stable pot support and cut down on wind that can reduce efficiency in boil times. Trangia makes a couple of different pot supports that can be found below. Also, other companies make similar pot supports that would be compatible with the Spirit Burner.

The Trangia Spirit Burner is a versatile and user friendly alcohol burner. Besides having a track record of reliable service, it also has a couple of uniquely useful features. The simmer ring allows the burner to adjust from full to simmer and extinguishes the flame when closed completely. The twist on cap with o-ring seals the burner so you don't have to empty unused fuel between uses and prevents evaporation. Includes burner, simmer ring, and cap w/ o ring.
