- Thank you for the question. From what I understand of Pieps' website, this product operates on a slightly different frequency to differentiate itself from a buried human victim. This way the signal will not interfere with human rescue. In order to find a buried animal or equipment, you would switch to "equipment mode" on the transceiver. This unfortunately means it won't work with other brand transceivers (unless they also have a 456 kHz "equipment" mode). Thanks!
