Ruffwear - Quencher Cinch Top

The Quencher put Ruffwear on the map way back in 1994; it was the first packable, waterproof dog bowl. The Cinch Top version is a classic today thanks to its durability and proven design. It stands on its own, so it's easy for your pooch to drink or eat from - no more pouring water in your dog's mouth or in your hand. Stuff the Quencher in your pack or pocket, use it to store kibble, and finally toss it in the washing machine - this bowl will be a faithful companion for years to come.

A little piece of luxury that goes a LONG way!

I'm in love with the quencher cinch top. I live out of my car for about 6 months out of the year. My trips include overnight backpacking to 7 day cross-country road trips.

Sure, a plastic bag could do the trick back in the day, but this bowl removes the hazard of plastic consumption (by very sneaky dogs), won't be mistaken for trash, is durable as heck, and brings a little luxury for your best friend when the going gets tough.

It's light, it is mashable (yet retains its form when it's time to chow down) and it cleans up great! The bowl holds up to about 6 cups of kibble. The draw string cinch is durable and well made. I was even able to put water in it, cinch it tight and have minimal spillage! No more dumping precious water on minimal gear hikes :)

The only draw back? Myself. I've generally have VERY well behaved dogs when it comes to food left out. I accidentally left the full bowl near a bored Ranger in the car and he managed to chew the plastic tips off of the bag. Luckily he ingested nothing AND the bag was left untouched, though the cinch was well slobbered :)

As always I am impressed their the quality of their products and am in awe of their gear donation and generosity towards working dog programs. This is a business that's worth supporting! Review by Suzie
