  • Thank you for the question. A footprint (a.k.a. groundcloth or groundsheet) is a piece of material--the same dimensions as your tent floor--that is placed under the tent for extra protection.
    
    In the case of the Hubba footprint, there are grommets at the corners that allow you to pitch just the rain-fly and the footprint to create a lightweight freestanding tarp. Thanks!
