Patagonia - Merino 2 Lightweight Bottoms - Men's (Spring 2015)

The men's Merino 2 Lightweight Bottoms from Patagonia are ideal for backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing, or any other cool-weather pastime. Merino wool has some pretty amazing properties: it's warm when wet, breathes like none other, stretches, regulates body temperature, and is naturally odor-resistant. Patagonia added a touch of Capilene and spandex fibers to enhance the wool's stretch, wicking, and dry times. The Merino 2 Bottoms have bluesign® approved fabric, and the wool is responsibly sourced from the grasslands of Patagonia.

MATERIALS
Chlorine-free Wool
Raw, untreated wool has scales that make it itchy and coarse and cause it to shrink, so most wool fabrics are treated with chlorine to reduce the scales. But chlorine is a pervasive pollutant that’s especially harmful to organisms living in water and soil. Patagonia remove the scales from their merino wool fibers using a unique chlorine-free process that’s bluesign® approved.

TECHNOLOGY
At Patagonia they seek to build the best product and cause no unnecessary harm. That's their mission statement, and it takes many forms. As it applies to making products, we work hard to source materials and use processes that are less harmful to the Earth without compromising quality. Because to them, quality is not only how well a product performs and holds up, but also how it's made.
