- Great PFD Review by Whitewater Kayaker
Price Value Quality
I recently switched to the Willis from an earlier Astral PFD model. I've had my older model for probably 5 years. It has held up great and looks like new, but I wanted one that fits more secure as I've advanced in white water kayaking.
The Willis fits great. You can cinch it down so that it is very snug around your middle but still very comfortable. That snug fit keeps it in place - you could probably be picked up by the shoulder straps and it wouldn't come off. That's what I want when I'm heading into class 4 rapids. The floatation is also out of the way of your arms and your seat back when paddling. All around great design.
Like the other reviewer mentioned, the outside of the model is free of anything that might snag. A very clean exterior. There is a nice pouch and pocket in the front behind the chest cover. So if you end up swimming rapids, you'll have a much better chance not getting hooked up on anything in the river.
I also purchased the NRS Captain Rescue Knife from backcountrygear and that fits nicely in the knife buckle on the front of the PFD.

- Great playboating/day use PFD Review by thatoneguy

The Willis is sweet. It has the same design and construction of the famous Green Jacket without all of the bells and whistles. No quick release straps or pockets, the Willis is a great slim fitting PFD.
Additionally, the buckles on the right side make for easy on/off as opposed to the pull over design of the Green Jacket.
I would recommend it for playboating, recreational kayaking, or rafting.
