Description
Omega Pacific's SBGII is one of the smoothest & most versatile belay devices available! Based on a design by Greg Lowe, the all new and improved SBGII is the smoothest and most versatile device available. By incorporating a rigid stem on this device, climbers can go from full lock-off to whipping rope out in a single, smooth action, no more binding up as the device tries to free itself! And the amount of friction can be completely adjusted to suit your particular need. Does your climber outweigh you? Are you using skinny ropes? Then set up the brake line through the V-Slots! Clipping in short (into the oblong hole in the center of the stem) adds even more braking power. Climbing with fat ropes, a skinny partner or on low-angle slabs? Then belay off the U-Grooves for less friction and clip into the bottom hole of the SBGII! And if you've ever rapped on a single 8mm or 9mm ropes with a traditional belay device, you know what a fast and loose ride that can be! With the SBGII, wrap that skinny cord around the rigid stem and rappel figure-8 style for the ultimate in control and safety.

Sport climbers will find our climbing gear flush with a selection of biners and quickdraws from makers like Camp, DMM, and Wild Country suited for any top-roping or bolt route. Trad climbers will be happy with the wide variety of cams and nuts we keep on hand for those looking to tackle technical pitches unmarred by bolt holds. Even mountaineering climbers can rest assured we have the harnesses and helmets they'll need for team expeditions that require being roped together when traversing snowfields or clipping onto guide lines on the Via Ferrata.

These products have been engineered from the best materials by the most respected manufacturers in the outdoor industry. It's about safety at all times. Trust a hold with active pro cams that expand into cracks from Black Diamond's Camalot C4 family or leave worry out of the game with a passive pro nut sized just right to slide into your crag from makers like Metolius and Trango. Backcountry Gear ensures everything has been tested, from every sheath of rope to the bags that hold them, as well as markers and hooks. All you have to do is find the route.
