- What is the recycling # in the triangle on the bottom? I'm trying to determine if this is a newer BPA free bottle or an older one?
- Thanks for the question. This bottle uses a #2 plastic made from HDPE...these opaque white "old school" Nalgene bottles are all BPA free. We no longer carry any Nalgene bottles that use BPA plastics.

Simply put the Nalgene water bottle is an institution. Everywhere I look I see people using a Nalgene bottle for more than just carrying water. I have seen them used for food containers, storage containers, children's play toys, and even a pencil holder. Personally I think the pencil holder was a bit overkill, but it just goes to show you how people love these bottles. So, if you are thinking of ordering just one, think again and order five.
