New ergonomic handle
- More then 7 years now
It is more then 7 years now that I'm using it. it help me stay "wet" in the Israeli desert with a brown water that I find on the trail. it save my life!
After pumping a brown 8 liter of water I need to get a new filter...but still with this I got home safe (:
But If you need a lot of water (4 liter+) to pump it going to be a hard work for the handle of the pump is not that easy to use!
- Very good
- It is one of the best that I have seen yet, I had a Pur and this is much easier to use and clean
- This pump has never failed me
We have had this for about 3 years and have taken it everywhere with us. I've never had any problems with it, and most importantly I've never been sick while using it.
We have pumped from some pretty disgusting ponds and this thing worked like a charm. If the water is particularly mucky, or even if not, I recommend using a handkerchief or something as an extra prefilter to wrap around the intake.
The pump screws onto a wide-mouth Nalgene bottle which makes it easy to fill containers without getting water all over the place.
The only thing is, and this goes for any pump, you need to follow the directions and maintain it! Depending on water clarity, the filter will become clogged and it will be difficult to pump after a while on an extended trip. Before it gets too hard, use clean (already pumped and filtered water) and the included scrub pad to scrub the ceramic filter a bit then rinse it. This will clear the debris and restore full flow. When you get home from your trip, scrub the filter lightly under running water and then let it dry completely for a few days before putting it back in the unit.
Follow the simple instructions and you will have a source of clean water for years to come. As always, bring iodine or something as a backup in case you lose or break your pump.
