Questions and Answers

When it comes to outdoor clothing and men’s apparel, go no further than Backcountry Gear. We know guys like practical stuff, and to look good. We make it easy to do both with everything from breathable, weatherproof jackets to parkas that help maintain core temperatures while sustaining freedom of movement. Even our socks selection is geared for guys.

Backcountry Gear takes these things seriously: comfort and reliability. Even if he’s not necessarily thinking about it, a guy is going to appreciate the combination when temperatures drop on a mountain trail or when a sudden, wet snow squall blows in and he still has someplace to be. On the trail or in the city, the story is the same. We have you in mind.

Men's Outdoor clothing options include the best headwear, shirts, bottoms, socks, and accessories. The workhorse of any outdoor clothing collection, the softshell, is a cornerstone at BCG. We stock a range of water resistant, windproof softshells and hardfaced fleeces from Arc'Teryx, Marmot, and more. Those looking for waterproof hardshells won't be disappointed, either, whether looking for the time-tested GORE-TEX option or any of the ultralight breathable fabrics like eVent, DryQ, or H2NO.

Backcountry Gear makes finding men's shirts and tops easy. For organic warmth and natural comfort, go for the 100% Merino wool from Icebreaker, SmartWool, and others as a next to skin layer, mid layer, or outer layer. For high performance outdoor clothing able to handle heavy sweat, try Patagonia capilene base layers and stay cool and dry with an odor resistant fabric.

If you’re looking for something rugged and practical for your outdoorsman, look to Backcountry Gear. Hats and gaiters, eyewear and belts, we have outdoor clothing for every inch and every pursuit. Vests, down jackets, cold weather socks, and technical shells for hiking, skiing, and water sports. Neck gaiters, ear warmers, beanies, caps, and sun protection, we have it all.
