Metolius wanted to make the most comfortable ledge possible and still keep the set-up time to a couple of minutes. Alas, the Bomb Shelter Single & Double ledges. The innovative center spreader bar keeps the bed/frame from sagging, and thereby elimi- nates the old sway back and shoulder crush. It also greatly reinforces the long poles of the ledge, increasing the integrity of the structure. They also added a layer of fabric to the bed's center section to reinforce this high-stress zone. It's easy to set up and take down the Bomb Shelter due to cus- tom-milled corner blocks & tubing. Anodizing these parts gives a hard, smooth surface which resists galling much better than bare metal. Metolius chose fat 1.125 tubing for increased frame strength. Bed tensioners on each end hold the frame securely in the corner blocks which are milled out for ultra-easy set up. A thick urethane scuff guard protects the wall side of the ledge and is made out of the same material as the haul bags. The ledge risers are gathered to a master point which is a heavy-duty sewn loop. The risers are color coded for each side and the heights are easily adjustable with handy cam-lock buckles. The Bomb Shelter rainfly is made by Mountain Hardwear. Custom milled beefy aluminum fly attachment point, waterproof nylon fly, large window, and a storm pole highlight this beauty. All seams are hot-taped.
