Price Value Quality These shoes are a bit pricey, yes. BUT, if you can afford them and you like to boulder with your back to the ground and your feet high, these are the way to go. They have a really agressive toe and the inner par of the shoe has a bump to keep your toes down (this is not simply added rubber on the sole). They will really keep your toes planted on the wall so you don't have to be doing your ab routine every move when your feet slip off the wall.
NOW... These are GREAT BOULDERING SHOES, but don't plan on climbing slab in them. Reserve these for the steep stuff. If you are on anything other than an overhang you will have to drop your heels to get a toe one unless you are a ballerina. If you are looking for an all-around shoe my favorite is the Evolv Pontas, but there are plenty of others out there.
Don't be put off by the funky single velcro closure system. It works fine. My shoes stay put with no problems and they are easy enough to get on and off.
Finally, about sizing... These shoes will stretch quite a bit. I wear the equivalent of 47 street shoe and I bought these in a 44 or 44.5. When I first got them I had to wear them sitting on my couch for 20 minutes at a time. After a few sessions I stepped it up to standing in them for a little bit at a time. Then over the course of a couple weeks I took them on a few test runs. After a month or so they stretched and fit my foot perfectly. They are still super tight but without any pain. If they are comfortable when you first put them on, they will be way too big after a month. Keep that in mind.(Posted on 11/1/11)
