The year round all purpose bivy. The eVent South Col is half the size of the TegralTex fabric South Col. The eVent fabric itself weighs 3oz./sq. yard. Full Trilaminate eVent top and foot section. 22 waterproof side zipper makes entry easier and decreases weight by eliminating velcro storm flaps. Built in spacing where the face zipper and the side zipper meet, leaves room to stay roped up on a climb. A replaceable wire stiffener in the hood brim encourages air flow and keeps fabric off your face. The eVent Fabric is a Direct Venting™ waterproof barrier that marks a significant advancement in ePTFE laminate technology. Using proprietary and patented Dry System™ technology, eVent Fabric sets a new standard for comfort by allowing perspiration to dissipate and vent without saturating the inside of the fabric. At the core of eVENT Fabric is an ePTFE (expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene) film that has been rendered oil-repellant, and thereby free from body-oil contamination, via a method that retains both the inherent open-pore structure of the membrane as well as its hydrophobic properties. The eVent South Col has received the 2004 Backpacker Magazine Editor's Choice Award.
