Hilleberg - Nallo 3 GT
The Nallo GT has established itself as the top contender in the lightweight division of roomy tents. To put it simply, it provides lots of space at low weight! With the Nallo GT’s strength and practical comfort being the decisive factors in choosing this tent, you will also be getting Hilleberg´s legendary quality and detailed workmanship. The Kerlon 1200 fabric used in this model has a tear strength of five times that of regular materials and weighs only 50 g/m2 (1.47 oz/yd2). The different pole lengths give the tent its distinct profile, offering space and head room where it is needed the most: at the entrance of the inner tent. The smaller poles at the ends of the tent shave off ounces that are not essential. A strong but lighter than Hilleberg standard ground sheet fabric is a logical consequence of the thought towards keeping the weight down.
Pitching this tent is easy because of the three external poles, adjustable pole holders, and peg loops. Linked inner and outer tents keep the inner from getting wet in the rain when erecting the Nallo GT. Four pegs are enough to pitch a Nallo GT in fair conditions. The inner tent can easily be detached, either partially or entirely, and moved back to increase the size of the vestibule. The outer tent by itself is an ideal and lightweight rain shelter for a whole group on a day hike. The inner can be used separately as well, if the weather allows; all you need are four separate pole holders. The side entrance to the Nallo GT opens conveniently from the top or the bottom. The large vestibule has enough room for its inhabitants to enjoy a meal and store their packs. The inner entrance has an almost circular two-way zipper. In order to keep condensation levels as low as possible, the vestibule features a well covered vent that is protected from the rain. It is part of the entry panel and can be operated from the inside and the outside of the tent. The inner tent entrance is fully backed by no-see-um netting. With the entrance and the inner fully open you will enjoy lying in your sleeping bag, soaking in the views. The foot end of the outer tent can be pulled out with the attached lines after you have detached the inner in the corners; this way the fabric is pulled off the ground, improving ventilation. The vestibule also features 2 seperate entrances. Open one, or both, and you now have even more options to help improve ventilation. The Nallo GT has three pairs of guy lines with line runners tied on each side and extra loops for lines on the vent. There are two pockets and a clothes line in the inner tent.

- Nallo 3GT
- I own some of the most popular single and double wall tent on the market. Hilleberg tents are an engineering marvel. This company is based just below the Artic Circle, so I figure they know a thing or two about bad weather. The outer tent is made from their prioperitory Kerlon fabric. It's like wearing a bulletproof vest without the weight. The genius behind the product, is that the outer and inner tent go up simultaneously, so there is no chance of the inner tent getting wet or snow covered. I ended up selling all of my other 3 and 4 season tents for Hellibergs. I'm from the Lake George region in up state New York. Winters can be very harsh, spring and summers very wet. The Hilleberg Nallo GT out performs all the others combined regardless of the season, therefore you only need to purchase one tent to cover all your bases.
- Weather will never be a reason to not go!
- This tent is far better than one can understand from simply viewing the specs. This light weight double wall tent provides so much comfort, and protection you'll wonder why other tent manufacturers even try. I have used single wall tents before and even the best of them left too much condensation in the tent, especially when the clouds were closing in.. But this double wall keeps you dry and properly vents all the condensation to the outer wall away from delicate ultralight bags, and gear. Trust me once you start getting wet gear the fun levels goes right through the floor boards. This tent is high quality, well built, and well conceived, As for the price, after the first snow or rain storm above 10,000 feet you will forget about the price, and feel good about yourself for making the purchase.
