Vapor Current Suspension
At first glance, you notice the ventilation channels molded into the cushy back pad. These channels allow air to circulate from the bottom to the top, taking advantage of convection to aid in evaporative cooling. This facilitates circulation without shifting the pack's center of gravity away from your back. Beneath the molded foam, the VC frame has a full length (all the way up to the load lifters), HDPE die-cut sheet that supports loads up to 35 lbs.

The frame itself is removeable so the pack can be used for ultralight loads without the frame. The belt and shoulder straps feature dual density padding and new narrow webbing straps. The shoulder strap has a built in stretch mesh pocket, and the belt has the capacity to accept Granite Gear optional hip belt pockets. Vapor Current packs are fixed (non-adjustable) torso packs that come in sizes Short and Regular in the women's models.

Lightweight, comfortable and well organized., I'm a fan of Granite Gear but I particularly like this back pack. (I always appreciate their understated colors too) Definitely recommend.

I also recommend Backcountry Gear. They always seem to have the best prices if they have what I'm looking for....and shipping is fast.

Worked out great with a few mods Review by Scales

I absolutely love this pack. It carried my 27.8 lb load very comfortably and made the 40 mile trek much more enjoyable. I did make a few modifications. First, the side stretch pockets are not tall enough to keep a water bottle in , so if the interior of the pack is full, the contents push the bottle out of the side pocket while walking. I used bottle holders on the hipbelt instead and used the side pockets for soft contents like snacks, gloves, windshirt etc. and no longer needed the hipbelt pouches I had added so I removed them. The other mod I made was remove the front brown strap thats in front of the front stretch pocket and reattached the buckles to the compression straps with zipties. Removing that vertical strap allows the pocket to stretch better and I was able to carry a larger tent (Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2) in it. I attached a piece of shockcord to the existing buckle above the stretch pocket to secure the tent from coming out. Everything else worked great for me. I will be using this as my primary pack unless I HAVE TO carry a bear canister. So my initial rating of 4.8 is now a 4.999 with the modifications. (nothing is perfect).

I had been looking for a panel loading pack that didnt fit like a military rucksack or weighed a ton. This pack fits the bill nicely. The main compartment is roomy and has an inside compression strap to help keep pressure off of the zippers along with two outside. Accessibility is great. The hydration pouch is shared by the plastic sheet frame. The hipbelt and suspension are the best i've seen and perfect for the 20 to 25 lb wet load I will be carrying. The hipbelt has "molle" style strapping for pouch additions. I did add some Maxpedition four by six pouches which are a bit bigger and more useful than the GG pouches. The front stretch pocket holds my Hexamid solo tent nicely. Which brings me to the only real complaint of this pack... There is a strapped buckle that secures the contents in the stretch pocket. the problem is that the female end faces down which makes securing the buckle a pain in the - - - when there is something in the pocket. The snap needs to face up to correct this problem. Which I will be fixing prior to my next outting. I will do amore thorough review after the field test in the OHT.
