Price Value Quality These are my second pair of climbing shoes, and while my first shoes are still comfortable for easy-moderate terrain, the Anasazi VCS are the shoes I'll use to take me to the next level! For standing on the dimmest of edges and making the finest foot placements I wouldn't trust anything else. The stiff sole will let you edge on things you can hardly see, and smearing is no problem with 5.10's Stealth rubber. Make no mistake, these shoes don't have much of a downward toe or super tight heel for ridiculous overhang, but that's not what these are designed for. The slingshot rand keeps toes up front and together, where they need to be for fine placements.
For best performance, size down until there's no wiggle room in the toes. I wear a 10-10.5 and sized down to an 8.5. The synthetic uppers stretch just enough to mold to your feet, but won't relax over time. These aren't the most comfortable shoes for long climbs, but for those high-end projects, you can't do better than the Anasazi VCS!
