Questions & Answers
I am looking for a very lightweight line to throw in my backpack for rappels about 200' or less, and the occasional tree climb and rappel. This rope says not for lead climbing, but it has a 7.5kN rating, which is quite a bit. I have never fallen while climbing in a tree, but if that were ever the case it would only be around 5-6' from the last branch or tree crouch. In my case, do you think this would work well for me? and be sufficient for taking such a small fall if it were to ever happen? I weigh about 190 with climbing gear.
Thank you for your question.
While this line works very well for rappels, Edelrid strongly discourages it's use as a lead line, and I as well would not recommend it for that purpose. I apologize.
