The new, fully modular Cyborg Crampon is the lightest in it's class and is specifically designed for steep waterfall ice and hard mixed climbing. Weighing 1.05 kg (2lbs. 5 oz.) the Cyborg is sensitive yet super beefy, whether you're climbing ice, rock, or frozen turf. Hooded vertical footprints hold on dime edges and minuscule splatters of ice while large, aggressive secondary points offer solid stability and shear-resistance in soft ice, snow or junky foam conditions. With three frontpoint configurations, an articulated center strap and aggressive, serrated primary points, the Cyborg Climbs with rock-shoe-like precision and sensitivity. It's strongest-in-the-business Micro-Adjust heel lever ensures a correct and precise fit on most plastic or leather boots. Comes with performance-enhancing dual-density ABS plates that keep snow and debris from snowballing underneath your crampons.

These great, versatile crampons. They are a bit pricey, but you might as well spend the extra and do it right the first time.

They are made of stainless, so they won't bend or rust, and they stay sharp. Swappable front point is a plus. They will keep you stuck in solid ice and won't ball up if you have to go through some snow.

With the long center bar (sold separately, but very cheap) you can even fit these bad boys on your monster size boots.

Really no drawbacks other than price.
