Questions on Realization Shorts (Fall 2013)

    • Hi - as a middle aged woman that is not a stick-woman (I.e. I have hips & a bit of tummy) that takes climbing seriously (been climbing since 1973...), is this product an appropriate fit for a womanly figure?
    • Thank you for the question. They're not particularly "curvy", so I don't think it's the best choice for fit (the shorts have no hips whatsoever). I think in the long run it would be more comfortable to find a harness that fits well over a pair of shorts you already own/like.

If you need thin lightweight harness with less padding, I highly suggest the women's specific "Arc'Teryx R-260 LT". Also the "Arc'Tery R-320a" is fully adjustable and very comfortable unisex harness. Thanks!

Sport climbers will find our climbing gear flush with a selection of biners and quickdraws from makers like Camp, DMM, and Wild Country suited for any top-roping or bolt route. Trad climbers will be happy with the wide variety of cams and nuts we keep on hand for those looking to tackle technical pitches unmarred by bolt holds. Even mountaineering climbers can rest assured we have the harnesses and helmets they'll need for team expeditions that require being roped together when traversing snowfields or clipping onto guide lines on the Via Ferrata.

These products have been engineered from the best materials by the most respected manufacturers in the outdoor industry. It's about safety at all times. Trust a hold with active pro cams that expand into cracks from Black Diamond's Camalot C4 family or leave worry out of the game with a passive pro nut sized just right to slide into your crag from makers like Metolius and Trango. Backcountry Gear ensures everything has been tested, from every sheath of rope to the bags that hold them, as well as markers and hooks. All you have to do is find the route.

We’re ready to answer questions and advise on your options. Knowing is half the battle, and it’s always better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. We'll get you to the top!
