Compact, balanced head, forged blade : features which help it find the best placement with the first blow, and release easily to string a series of moves together. The strongly curved upper handle gives excellent clearance and allows easy placements in sculpted iceflows, columns and bosses. The teeth which run naturally around the upper blade make for more secure hooking. The forged blade, thinner at the tip and bevelled on the teeth, avoids shattering the ice. The large number of teeth right along the blade ensures great stability whatever the thickness of the ice. The dropped nose of the first tooth makes for easier placement on thin ice and hooking on the tiniest edge. The handle is designed for climbing with or without a wristloop, clear to allow gripping the base of the handle and optimising the reach of the tool. The dual-density grip and the and the forward spur ensure that the hand has a firm grip. The reduced size of the point avoids the risk of snagging when striking with the tool. Precise adjustment of the Saf'Lock wristloop around the wrist. The Saf'Lock Clipper wristloop can be installed: the hand can be attached or detached from the tool in one simple movement.
