Like all of Black Diamond's piolets, the anodized shaft is built from lightweight, aircraft aluminum alloy for high strength. The investment-cast, one-piece stainless steel head is comfortable to wrap your fingers around, and the slim, neutral pick and aggressive teeth are engineered for secure self-arrest.
