Since 2004 Wild Country have offered two kits to repair both Technical and Forged Friends. These have been designed to be simple to use and are sold to enable climbers to sort out the most common problem encountered with all SLCDs; that of broken trigger wires. This means that even if you are in the furthest reaches of the planet your Wild Country unit should be able to be made usable. The two kits are separated into Forged Friends and Technical Friends. The Technical Friends kit is designed for Technical Friends 0.4 to 4 from 2004 onwards - but can also be used to fix older units with a little more fiddling. There are instructions provided for both types of repair. The Forged Friend kit is suitable for Forged Friends 2~4, and is suitable for older units as well. Both kits contain enough parts to repair two units. Please remember, these kits are designed to be used on Friends less than 10 years old at the date of repair. Wild Country in the UK offers a service for factory quality Friend trigger and sling repairs, however, once again this service is only available for Friends less than 10 years old. |
