I'd like to say that the Suunto X9 is one of the most amazing watches ever created, but calling it a watch would be an understatement. This is more like a computer/GPS system that you wear on your wrist. It features an altimeter mode with a display range of -500 m to 9000 m (-1500 ft to 29500 ft), and also can keep a log of your total ascent/descent and your highest/lowest elevations.
The Barometer mode features a graphical display of pressure trends for last 6 hours, and it can store barometric pressure data for the last 7 days (168 hours) of use. There is also a thermometer setting with a display range of -20°C to +60°C (-5°F to +140°F), and also keeps track of temperature data for the last 7 days (168 hours).
The really cool part of this watch is the GPS and route planning features. You can connect this watch to your computer and, using the included software, plan your routes on your computer and upload them to the watch. You can store up to 50 different routes on it, with each route being able to keep track of 50 different points (mark off your favorite camp sites, fishing spots you have discovered, or basically anything you want to be able to find easily again). You can pick a point as your home point at the start of your trip, then later on you can tell the unit to find it's way back. It will then point you in the right direction, tell you how far away it is, and give you an estimate of how long it will take you to get back. It also has a fully functional GPS system to help it do all of this. Believe it or not, all of these features are in a wristwatch!
