The Variant Carbon Fiber, aka Variant Composite, has earned its reputation as the premier backcountry adjustable ski pole due to it’s long carbon fiber lower shaft with it’s feather light swing weight along with the Life-Link’s proven locking system, avalanche probe conversion, releasable straps and bomb proof design and construction. Sold in 4 sizes, with 10 inches of adjustment, you can ski with the right length then lengthen the pole to tour or skate up and away. If you demand the most and expect the best…these are the poles for you. The quick release ferrule mounted on the pole allows baskets to be easily interchanged and removed for probing. Variant Carbon Fiber comes with two baskets: a 3 1/2" snowflake basket for soft snow. And a 2 1/2" disk basket for hard pack conditions.
