The more bulky your sleeping bag, the bigger your backpack will need to be. By compressing your sleeping bag you can travel with a smaller pack, or a pack that is better balanced. This will make a huge difference with respect to comfort and fatigue. A compression stuff sack is just the answer for reducing bulk in your pack. The ultralight siliconized nylon is tough, waterproof and very slippery, making it easy to slide your bag in and out. Four 3/4" webbing straps cinch the bag evenly. Most down bags should compress to about half of the initial stuffed size. Caution: never leave a sleeping bag in a compression stuff sack for extended periods, as it will reduce the longevity of the insulation |
