The Vargo Triad is a great option for anyone looking for an ultra lightweight alcohol stove. Made of titanium, it weighs just 1 oz., yet has some really nice features. It has retractable top and bottom legs, which gives you a stable base for the stove and for a pot on top of it. It is recommended that you use some sort of wind screen (aluminum foil will work fine) to get the most efficient use of the stove. It also requires that you use 90% or higher Ethyl or Isopropyl alcohol. DO NOT use other fuels with this stove, as it could result in an explosion. Under testing, it boiled 16 oz. of water in under 8 minutes, using less than 1.2 oz. of alcohol. All in all, it seems like a great option for lightweight, alcohol stoves. |
