Though roughing it is a welcome part of many adventures, sometimes what you really want to round out a perfect day of hiking or sur!ng is a good hot shower. Nemo's Helio™ Pressure Shower comes in a small, neatly nested kit, weighs less than a liter of water, and provides 5-7 minutes of steady and satisfying water pressure. Unlike conventional gravity-fed, hanging shower systems, the Helio™ system uses an 11 liter welded fabric water tank pressurized by a foot pump. To use the system, you simply fill up the water tank, let it warm in the sun, set the tank on the ground wherever you’d like to shower, then step on the foot pump a few times. Pumping occasionally while showering maintains the water pressure. The system includes the water tank, Helio™ foot pump, 7 ft. neoprene shower hose with nozzle, and a ventilated fabric carrying case. Helio™ is ideal for showering or cleaning dishes in camp, rinsing up after surfing or canyoneering, or general hygiene and cleanliness on any extended stay in the backcountry.

Quality Price Value This shower just became available in July 2012 and we took it on an 8 day trip down the Grand Canyon, along with a tiny Evernew EBY254 titanium alcohol stove with its EBY253 Titanium Cross Stand, and a .9L titanium pot. It is easy to use, clean and store and gives the comforts of a home shower in the wild! The shower works by filling with water and then pressurizing the unit by pumping the foot pump (very intuitive). It stays upright by itself and does not fall over. It has a REAL shower head with a lever to turn the shower on (shuts off automatically when lever is released), it produces an excellent water flow and has a long hose, which makes it easy to shower and wash your hair standing up.
We heated up water (filtered through bandana / coffee filter) using the alcohol stove and combined it with the cold (50 degree) Colorado river water in the ratio of 1 pot of hot water to 1.5 pots of cold, which produced a shower temp similar to what we use a home. Everyone in our group wanted to use this product during the trip - no scooping of cold muddy water for washing for us!
It is also great for washing the dog, cleaning motorcycles etc - anywhere you need a pressurized shower for cleaning. I cannot say enough good things about this product!!(Posted on 9/13/12)
