- the 80% solution
I've had my Mega light for 5 years now with 4 trips to the Yosemite back counrty, used it while deployed to Afghanistan, and winter camping in Vermont.
Held up to 35 mph winds (noisey for sure) in Smugglers Notch in February.
Best weight to square footage out there.
- Great Lightweight versatile shelter
When carrying enough gear to not only go on a two week bike tour, but then go on a backcountry ski tour, weight and space are the huge considerations. BD's Mega Light is neither heavy nor bulky thus making it the perfect shelter for any endeavour where space is a premium and weight a serious thought.
Perhaps the only drawbacks of this shelter are that it is not free standing, but you probably already knew that, and it doesn't breathe the least bit, so there's a chance (depending on where you find yourself sleeping ) that the inside of the walls will be damp with condensation.
Other than that though, this thing rocks.
