- Never Taking It Off.
Speak with people that work at Backcountry Gear and you'll learn across the board that we all suffer from weak willpower against impulse buying. We crumble for "The One" and then come in the next day wearing our new 'I'm whole now' piece, or doing our best not to steer every conversation to be about all the fun we had using our new baby and how *cool* everything is now because we're richer in experiences thanks to our gear.
This vest is the one that finally broke my no-buy streak.
There I was sitting on the floor slaving away for the good of our faithful custys. That's when I saw this bad boy, fresh from the warehouse, emerging from it's bag for the first time via my coworker's knowledgeable hands.
Red has always been a strong favorite for me, the color of my fantasies. This 600 hund-y fill Dreamboat delivers in a delectably deep shade of current for the body, and is topped with a slate blue hood. If I ever chose to unzip and take off the light of my life to admire the inside, I'd see adorable red mushrooms on a black back ground, but I won't.
Ask my coworkers, they'll tell you I'm a reptile because of my heat seeking desires and lack of body temp regulation. Thinking back in the months of constant wear of this gorgeous vest, I don't think I've ever remarked that I felt cold. That's actually a big deal.
All blah blah aside, It's a quality piece of clothing that I trust to do its job and I'm not afraid to walk around a light rain in. And, on the off chance that anything ever did came up with it, I know I can work with Patagonia to get it remedied one way or another cause that's the kind of company Ol Pats is.
