One of the lightest, most durable canisters on the market
- Perfect for a few days
- I've taken the canister on numerous trips in the sierras, it is a bit small for long trips but fits into smaller packs better than the big clear bear vault cans. the only small bummer in my opinion is that you have to turn it over or put something on top of it if its going to rain, as it's not water tight.
- solid food protector
- Tried and true. I've carried one or two for years and successfully kept my food from being pillaged by squirrels, marmots, raccoons, ravens, bears and other curious animals while saving them from habituation. Prior to carrying a cache, I had food taken and equipment damaged (even from "properly hung" bear bags). Now, I have an extra for small groups I bring with me to the backcountry.
