Arc'teryx - Miura 45 (Fall 2015)

The Arc'teryx Miura 45 is a fully padded rock climbing gear bag. Full zip closure permits access to contents from the top or either side, or use a rope bucket. Twin flat front pockets hold a guide book and daily essentials. Interior gear sling keeps protection handy.

The Miura 45 is a Climbing Magazine Editor's Choice Award Winner! They say:
"Durability is paramount, but it can’t come at the cost of comfort or utility. After five months of testing, the Miura proved to be a top performer in all three categories. Burly 840-denier nylon is woven in a smooth 'basket-weave' pattern (rather than the more-standard crosshatch) resulting in fewer rough edges to catch on rock and debris, even on the cheese-grater granite at Lumpy Ridge. The wide, EV50-padded shoulder straps (similar to but softer than the EVA used in many boot and trail runner midsoles) rode comfortably on testers of all sizes, while a minimal hipbelt supported the weight—one bad-back tester reported no pain, after cragging all over Colorado. An ultrafat zipper snakes around both sides and the top, to allow access from any side, and there are grab handles on three sides (great when using the pack as a rope bucket) for easy toting. Stiffened sides make loading and unloading a breeze. Three external pockets, one interior pocket, a hydration sleeve, and internal gear loop round out this no-nonsense pack."

Other Features Materials
840D nylon 6,6 basket weave has high abrasion resistance. Basket weave construction results in an exceptionally smooth surface, a mechanical property to increase durability

HD 80 foam is high density polyethylene foam that provides support and structure to the bag, plus comfort against the back. Burly™ Double Weave is a resilient stretch woven fabric with strength and durability combined with next-to-body comfort.

500AD ATY nylon 6,6 silicone treated PU is an air textured yard used in shoulder straps for its durability and aesthetic properties. Silicone treatment helps prevent dirt, snow and water pick-up. EV® closed cell foam resists compression damage and adapts to well to temperature changes. Spacermesh™ lining provides airflow. Polyester yarn is hydrophobic by nature, to repel water.

C2 (Composite construction) System:
Minimized construction laminates an HD 80 foam framesheet, high density EV® 50 foam and a quick dry back panel into the rest of pack. This construction results in low pack weights and energy conservation by having the pack sit close to the body, minimizing load movement and backward pull.
